Yes. Tutoring services are provided for free, which means that students will not be charged for tutoring lessons.
One of our main goals is to help those who can’t afford paid tutoring services. We believe that every student should have an equal opportunity to learn and ask questions. Our volunteer tutors do this for free and there is no reason to charge our students since our sources of income are based on donations, sponsorships, etc.
Tutoring takes place in public areas, such as public libraries and local high schools. The tutoring venue will primarily be a public area that is located close to the volunteer tutor.
All tutors are screened for their academic excellence through academic transcripts and/or resumes. They must also pass a thorough volunteer screening interview with the addition of the Police Records Check for Service in the Vulnerable Sector.
Our main sources of revenue are from donations, sponsors, and possible fundraising activities.
Nobody can predict how much money we’ll get in a certain year. If we end up with a surplus in revenue, this surplus will be allocated towards a scholarship (or several scholarships depending on the amount of surplus) for volunteer tutors pursuing graduate studies. Volunteer tutors will be given the chance to apply for this scholarship once it is available.
