A big round of applause for Hany Soliman and Heidi Gulka for winning the 2015 TBB Founder’s Scholarship, prized at $1000 each!
Hany has been a tutor with TBB for over 3 years and has helped out in various events. While at TBB, Hany tutored numerous students and had a positive impact on not only their academic progress, but acted as a role model all the students he taught. During his time with us, Hany observed the strong influence of social and environment impacts on a student’s overall academic performance and well-being. This observation led Hany to pursue a Master of Arts in Higher Education at the University of Toronto, which he is currently completing. He is also an active Sunday School teacher at his church in Kitchener.
Heidi has been with Tutoring Beyond Borders for just over 2 years and has contributed hundreds of hours to our organization. She started off as a co-op student from the University of Waterloo and worked her way up the HR Department while tutoring over a dozen students during her time with our organization. In 2015, she was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources, where she continues to astound us with her dedication and support she provides to our charity. But most importantly, Heidi has always been an active tutor despite her other obligations, making her an invaluable asset to our team.
Join us in congratulating both of these talented and dedicated individuals on their commitment to teaching and education, as well as their passion for TBB’s mission to provide free and equal access to education for students from all walks of life.
